Remember - just because you’re free doesn’t mean you have to say yes. Avoid accepting last- minute invitations unless it’s something you’re genuinely excited about, and if you do, swap it for another night out on your calendar. Also, make sure you schedule your workouts. But be realistic: adapt your regular training routine if it’s unlikely you can keep it up. Just don’t abandon it entirely. When cooking in the run-up to Christmas, make an extra batch to freeze. Having backup meals in your freezer will help you avoid the temptation of a takeaway when you’re tired or hungover. Just don’t forget to put a reminder in your calendar to defrost it! Another thing worth planning is your wardrobe. ‘What to wear’ anxiety can spoil a night out and give your confidence a wobble if you don’t feel like you’re looking your best.
