Millionair Winter 2024-25

Transcending the luxury 5* hotel and spa concept, The Gainsborough Bath Spa occupies two Grade II Listed buildings, originally built in the 1800’s, continuing the Georgian façade and colonnade tradition, and has exclusive access to the natural thermal, mineral rich waters of the original roman baths on which the hotel site sits. The first hotel from Malaysian based luxury hotel group, YTL, in the UK, the Gainsborough Bath Spa attracts as many visitors from the East as Somerset locals fascinated by the ancient legend: it is believed waters came from rain falling approximately 10,000 years ago, which seeped two kilometres under the earth’s surface. There it is continually heated by hot rocks before rising up through the three famous hot springs in the centre of Bath, which supply the mineral rich water to The Gainsborough Bath Spa. Named after the 18th century artist, Thomas Gainsborough, the hotel consists of 99 rooms and suites, comprising a mix of bespoke period features and modern amenities: this editor stayed in the King’s Suite fit with a stately yet comfortable two poster bed, mahogany oak wardrobe space, and sash windows looking out to the view of Bath town as if lifted direct from one of Gainsborough’s vistas. From the smallest deluxe (25sqm) to the largest Gainsborough Suite (45sqm) you will find open plan rooms in a timeless style, complete with spacious sleeping, wardrobe function and separate lounging area that feel less like an intimidating 5* star hotel and more like a luxurious home away from home. The bathrooms are a chic addition to the custom room design: alcove roll top bathtubs are the main feature of an elegant marble surfaced interior space.
