I Fast forward to today: as she strides into the studio for our shoot with Fenton Bailey for Millionair magazine, Jodie radiates energy and looks more fabulous than ever! She’s transitioned from ruling the world’s fashion runways to racing cars and running her businesses. Embracing her entrepreneurial spirit, Jodie successfully manages a bustling pub, champions sustainability, and makes her mark in TV and motorsports. With her endless enthusiasm, dedication to community, and passion for green living, Jodie is a modern-day powerhouse, boldly crafting her empire on her terms; she is the ultimate Boss Woman! Throughout your remarkable modelling career, were there any mentors or influential figures who significantly shaped your journey?
I was fortunate to have an incredible agent, Jonathan Phang, who guided me throughout my career. Karl Lagerfeld also played a pivotal role; he took me under his wing and offered me exclusive opportunities with Chanel and Chloé. Karl was deeply involved in my development, even taking photographs and providing invaluable advice that helped me become comfortable in front of the camera.
Could you share one of your most memorable moments on the runway or during a shoot?
Opening for Givenchy was an unforgettable experience; during the fitting for the show, Alexander McQueen started cutting a satin coat with his shears, and I remember the seamstresses looking shocked! It was an honour to open the show, especially knowing the significance of the changes at Givenchy.
You transitioned from modelling to becoming an entrepreneur. How did that shift happen?
My journey has been very organic. I am always open to new opportunities, driven by curiosity and a love for learning. When I was given a chance to drive in motorsports, I embraced it wholeheartedly, and it grew into a new career. Life is precious, and I believe in seizing every opportunity that will lead me to things like MasterChef and many fulfilling experiences.
