Millionair Spring 2025

Growing up in Leicester, how has your background influenced your comedic style and the themes you explore in your work? Who are some of your biggest comedic inspirations, and how have they shaped your style? Growing up in Leicester was interesting because I was always seen as the posh one amongst my friends. But then, when I went to Bristol University, I discovered this whole other level of poshness that I didn’t know existed, and I found it quite hilarious because they saw me as some poor little street urchin (“Oh, you’re from LEICESTER?! Oh, BLESS you x”). In Leicester, there wasn’t much to do in terms of activities, so growing up, I just spent a lot of time with friends and family, making each other laugh. I think Jack Whitehall is a big inspiration for me (can you guess why?!), as well as Mickey Flanagan. I try not to adapt my style based on other comedians, but I think the fact they both bring a lot of themselves into their comedy and sort of caricature themselves on stage is something I’ve tried to do. Also, Sean Lock, simply for his brilliantly weird sense of humour. With the success of your tour and online content, what are your plans for the future? Well, I’ve always wanted to be an actor, and I’m currently in Serbia shooting a new series set to release in October, so keep your eyes peeled. For now, that’s my focus, but I’m sure I’ll be on stage desperately trying to make everyone laugh before too long.
