Your lyrics possess a profound emotional resonance. Could you share more about your creative process when composing songs? When I write songs, I usually draw from past experiences and write about them - especially if I’ve written them down in my journal. Journaling and songwriting help me process my raw emotions. Who are some of your musical influences, and in what ways have they shaped your sound and style? I love Lady Gaga, Siouxsie & The Banshees, the Cocteau Twins, and Boy Harsher. I try to create something unique by incorporating each of their influences into my music—whether it’s through electronic beats or shoegaze guitar—while still letting my natural soul sound shine through. Your music fuses elements of pop, R&B, and electronic genres. Where do you find inspiration for blending these styles? What genre of music do you prefer listening to? Recently, I’ve been drawing inspiration from goth and indie music, so it’s a mixture of everything I love. As I am mixed race, why not mix the music too? I listen to nearly everything except country and metal. One moment, I’ll be enjoying a piano sonata, and the next, it’s Deftones. As an emerging artist, what challenges have you encountered in the music industry, and what motivates you to keep pushing forward? I feel that artists aren’t always taken seriously anymore. There are too many “artists” now, and not all of them are in it for the right reasons. Some simply crave clout and don’t take the art form seriously, making it harder for genuine artists to be recognised for their true talents. I worry some people might view me as that, but I’ve been to music school and have been a musician since an early age; I live and breathe music. I’m not just an “influencer”; I truly am an artist.
