What is it like being the founder and owner of a luxury beauty brand?
Within 2 years of graduating, I was working on developing my beauty brand as a full-time job. Despite working on an Edtech startup aimed at supporting students' mental wellbeing, my unwavering passion for the beauty industry and product development persisted. Immersed in research, experimenting with makeup, and staying up-to-date with skincare ingredients and latest trends, my love for the industry grew. This realisation prompted me to. Transition my career, merging my entrepreneurial love for beauty.
As a founder, I value the positive energy and shared vision within my team, which is instrumental in driving Arooba's success. In the luxury space, our mission is to elevate the customer experience through our products and foster a vibrant community where beauty enthusiasts can embrace their inner icons.
What has been the most fun part of the journey?
The most enjoyable part of the journey has been visiting our lab in the English countryside, where I had the pleasure of mixing pigments and witnessing my imagination come to life. Another unforgettable moment was seeing our freshly produced batches of eyeshadow on the assembly line, as it truly brought a sense of fulfillment.
What role has makeup played in your life personally?
I find makeup very therapeutic. It allows me to experience moments of joy, playfulness, and experimentation, and I want to share that feeling with women worldwide. Like every girl, I love buying makeup products, trying new brands, and watching makeup tutorials. But what’s had the most significant impact on my life is the confidence and empowerment that comes with even a simple application of lipstick.
What has been the most challenging part of thejourney?
The most challenging aspect of the journey has been building everything from the ground up, including finding the right team and expertise to support the development of our brand. The task of innovating in skincare makeup while ensuring a seamless balance between skincare and makeup required us to search extensively for a lab that could meet our specific needs.
