FROM FARM TO FORK ...
SIMON ROGAN ‘at home’
He’s one of the UK’s most exciting chefs with a clutch of coveted Michelin stars to his name, and now you can experience fine dining courtesy of Simon Rogan in the comfort of your own home. Simon Rogan ‘at home’ offers weekly changing three-course meal options, available for nationwide delivery directly to your door. Created by Simon and his team of chefs in Cartmel, Cumbria, home to the iconic two Michelin-starred restaurant L’Enclume and one Michelin-starred restaurant Rogan & Co, all meals are prepared with carefully sourced ingredients from trusted suppliers, including Simon’s own Lake District farm. The three-course ‘at home’ menu is priced at £45 per person and includes home-baked bread, a starter, main course and dessert. Wine pairings selected by head sommelier Valentin Mouillard and his team are also available. There’s a simple step-by-step video to help you assemble the dishes and each delivery comes with a printed menu and cooking instructions. For our meal, we were treated to ham hock terrine and pickles with parsley oil and mustard emulsion, followed by confit leg and breast of chicken, roasted hen of the woods and a creamy mushroom sauce, and a verbena posset, rhubarb compote and shortbread. I have to admit it was a bit nerve-wracking trying to assemble each dish to fine dining standards but fun, too, to decorate the terrine with small dots of the emulsion using the tiny piping bag supplied, and artfully arrange the cresses and pickles on the plate. It almost resembled the real deal and tasted sensational. The chicken was simply delicious and looked just as artistic, and our pudding was the perfect finish to a truly memorable meal. If you live in London, you can also book a meal from Simon’s development kitchen and chef’s table in Soho, Aulis
London, available either for pre-order to collect or for delivery in zones 1 to 3. Make sure to book as far in advance as possible as menus sell out quickly!
